Flight to London

On June 20th we will be flying British Airways from Nashville directly to London. This is an overnight flight and we will arrive at 10:35 am on June 21st.

    Travel Tip:

    Don’t forget your passport! You should also take a photocopy of your passport and leave it in your suitcase. Other documents you should take are insurance card and driver’s license.

Get the UBER App before you leave.

We will be using UBER to travel to and from airports and train stations. And remember, if you are tired you can always get an Uber back to the hotel from anywhere in the city.

    Travel Tip:

    Currency in the UK is the British Pound. You can get British Pounds from the bank ahead of time or you can exchange at Heathrow airport.

Things to Pack!

  • Small shopping bag.
  • Sea Bands!
  • Take tupperware with snacks. Can use to carry fragile souvenirs home.
  • Electrical converter.
  • Bring your water bottle.
  • Don’t forget a rain jacket and umbrella.

    About 90% of Appalachian settlers in the 18th and 19th centuries were Scots-Irish. Many of our of our Great x Grandfathers and Grandmothers came from Scotland and settled in Tennessee. Southerner’s and Scott’s share a distinctive heritage of songs, stories, beliefs, behaviors, and speech. When we get to Scotland there will be a friendly hospitality that will feel familiar to you.
