Roman ruins of Jerash

Today’s Itinerary

Upon arrival in Amman, the Odynovo representative will meet you and help facilitate all the formalities. After collecting your luggage, he will take you to meet your English-speaking chauffeur-guide, then drive north to explore the Roman ruins of Jerash with a local guide. You will visit the spectacular forum, Roman colonnaded street, the Nymphaeum, the Temple of Artemis, and South Theater. Afterward, return to Amman to visit the Citadel on the highest hill, the Roman Theater, and Archeological & Folklore Museums.

Cairo – Amman, Egypt Air, Flight MS719 (Duration: 1 hour) flight leaves at 7:25.

Meet your driver at the lobby of your hotel, then head to the airport for the morning flight to Amman.

Nymphaeum

Completed in 191 AD, the Nymphaeum of Gerasa lies between the Temple of Artemis and the Temple of Dionysus, overlooking the Cardo Maximus. It is a very ornate monumental water fountain, in the form of an exedra, that was decorated with Corinthian columns, niches holdings statues, polychrome marble, and painted stucco, and topped by a half-dome.
