This morning, meet your private guide and driver for a full-day tour of ancient Memphis, Saqqara and the pyramids at Giza.

Drive south to Memphis first to visit this ancient capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom. Then, move on to the Step Pyramid of Saqqara. Finish with the most iconic and largest pyramids at Giza and the mysterious Sphinx, a colossal lion with a pharaoh’s head.

Stepped Pyramid of Djoser

It is located in the northwest of the Memphis city and was built during the 27th century BC for the burial of Pharaoh Djoser. It is the central feature of a vast mortuary complex in an enormous courtyard surrounded by ceremonial structures and decoration.

Pyramid of Unas

Located in Saqqara, the Unas Pyramid is the smallest of the royal pyramids completed during the Old Kingdom. The Pyramid Texts carved and painted on the walls of the chambers there were firstly created by Unas and treated as a major innovation.

Sphinx

Ancient Sphinx

It is the oldest known monumental sculpture, and is commonly believed to have been built by ancient Egyptians of the Old Kingdom during the reign of the Pharaoh Khafra. The face of the Sphinx is generally believed to represent the face of the Pharaoh Khafra.

Pyramids of Giza

The Giza pyramids, as one of the world`s seven wonders, were built during the fourth dynasty by King Khufu who built the biggest pyramid in the world, King Khafre who built the middle pyramid, and King Menkaure who built the smallest pyramid.
