Breakfast can either be taken in your room or down in the dining room.
There is a grocery store close to the hotel. It might be a good idea to stock up on some snacks for the road.
Today we pick up 2 rental cars at the Edinburgh Airport. Both are a medium sized SUV. We will have 2 drivers per car.
Today is a bit longer of a drive, 4:40 without stops. On the way we will stop and see The Kelpies, Dalwhinnie Distillery, and THE Macallan Distillery. Vivianne or Gillian will meet us at the Kellas Estate to give us a tour. I have told them to expect us around 6pm. If this is too ambitious ill send them a message that we are running late.
The Kelpies are 30-metre-high horse-head sculptures depicting kelpies, standing next to a new extension to the Forth and Clyde Canal, and near River Carron, in The Helix.
Once the capital of Scotland, Stirling is visually dominated by Stirling Castle. The Castle is on a craggy volcanic rock. On the Abbey Craig outcrop, the National Wallace Monument is a 19th-century tower. It overlooks the site of the 1297 Battle of Stirling Bridge, where William Wallace defeated the English. The Battle of Bannockburn Experience has interactive 3D displays on the history of the 1314 conflict.
Lunch will be somewhere on the road, either a restaurant or whatever groceries we packed.
Dalwhinnie Distillery stands in the Cairngorm National Park at the heart of the Scottish Highlands in the village of Dalwhinnie. From this remote but accessible location comes our liquid known as the gentle spirit.
Welcome to the Cairngorms National Park in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. The Cairngorms National Park is the largest national park in the UK and is one of the country’s most special and cared for landscapes with a wide variety of traditional and unique villages and communities.
The Macallan Distillery is as an amazing place as their whisky is amazing. It is brand new and looks like a spaceship. Unfortunately it is only open on the weekends. So if we get there in time we will try to go. I hope we can.
We can have dinner on the way, in Inverness or stop at Tessco and cook in our house!
